When a business asks you to share your information with them using EasyID, there may be some information (attributes) that you must share, otherwise they can’t provide their service. We call these mandatory attributes. Other pieces of information might not be strictly necessary, and it would be your choice whether to share them. We call these ‘optional attributes’.
Whether an attribute is optional or mandatory can differ from business to business, depending on the context. For example, if you were using your EasyID to log into an online shopping site and wanted to buy age-restricted goods, the shopping site would probably request your age (or request you prove you’re over 18) as a mandatory attribute. The business should have a privacy notice that explains which attributes they need. Some businesses will require certain attributes as mandatory and others as optional.
If your document doesn’t have one of the optional attributes the QR code is requiring, you’ll be able to continue.
If your document doesn’t have one of the mandatory attributes the QR code is requiring, you won’t be able to continue. You’ll have to add a new ID to your EasyID that does have that attribute (like Gender or Nationality).
